Julio Salas Rabaza nació en Chiapas, México en mayo del 94. A los 15 años se mudó a México donde realizó sus estudios en la Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, de donde se graduó de la Ingeniería en Restauración Forestal.
Durante su vida académica, Julio ha participado activamente con diferentes grupos de jóvenes multiculturales y diversos, como son: el Club de Ciencias Netzahualpilli y Chapingo Unido por el Ambiente; así como la International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA), de la cual fue Representante Regional de Latinoamérica de 2016-18. Asimismo, ha favorecido y asistido la participación de jóvenes en los bosques, a través de la organización de congresos estudiantiles nacionales e internacionales y siendo embajador juvenil de la Global Landscape Forum durante el Diálogo sobre Paisajes Sostenibles en Mesoamérica.
Actualmente, Julio realiza sus estudios de doctorado en el Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán; es miembro de la Society of Wetlands Scientists y Fellowship de la Organización Internacional de Maderas Tropicales.
Sus interacciones con otros jóvenes del mundo en materia de medio ambiente, así como el cariño que ha desarrollado hacia Canadá, debido a que comparte su vida con un Quebequense, lo motivaron a participar en este primer Lab de jóvenes Can-Mex; en donde tiene confianza que las voces de los jóvenes serán escuchadas y que junto con otras generaciones se fortalecerá el binomio Canadá-México y se avanzará hacia los objetivos del desarrollo sustentable.

Julio Salas Rabaza was born in Chiapas, Mexico in May 1994. At the age of 15 he moved to Mexico where he studied at the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, from where he graduated in Forest Restoration Engineering.
During his academic life, Julio has actively participated with different groups of multicultural and diverse young people, such as: the Netzahualpilli Science Club and Chapingo Unido por el Ambiente; as well as the International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA), of which he was Regional Representative for Latin America from 2016-18. Likewise, he has favored and assisted the participation of young people in the forests, through the organization of national and international student congresses and being a youth ambassador for the Global Landscape Forum during the Dialogue on Sustainable Landscapes in Mesoamerica.
Currently, Julio is studying for his doctorate at the Yucatan Center for Scientific Research; he is a Fellow of the Society of Wetlands Scientists and a Fellowship of the International Tropical Timber Organization.
His interactions with other young people around the world in environmental matters, as well as the affection that he has developed towards Canada, due to the fact that he shares his life with a Quebecer, motivated him to participate in this first Can Youth Lab. -Mex; where he is confident that the voices of young people will be heard and that together with other generations the Canada-Mexico binomial will be strengthened and progress will be made towards the objectives of sustainable development.

Julio Salas Rabaza est né au Chiapas au Mexique en mai 1994. À l'âge de 15 ans, il a déménagé à Mexico, où il a étudié à l'Universidad Autónoma Chapingo et par la suite obtenu un diplôme en génie de la restauration forestière.
Au cours de sa vie universitaire, Julio a participé activement avec différents groupes de jeunes multiculturels et diversifiés, tels que: le Netzahualpilli Science Club et le Chapingo Unido por el Ambiente, ainsi que l'Association internationale des étudiants en foresterie (IFSA), dont il a été représentant régional pour l'Amérique latine de 2016 à 2018. Il a également favorisé et aidé à la participation des jeunes dans les forêts, à travers l'organisation de congrès étudiants nationaux et internationaux et en étant ambassadeur des jeunes pour le Global Landscape Forum lors du Dialogue sur les paysages durables en Mésoamérique.
Actuellement, Julio fait ses études de doctorat au Centre de recherche scientifique du Yucatan, est membre de la Society of Wetlands Scientists et membre de l'Organisation internationale des bois tropicaux.
Ses interactions avec d'autres jeunes du monde entier en matière d'environnement, ainsi que l'affection qu'il a développée envers le Canada, du fait qu'il partage sa vie avec un Québécois, l'ont motivé à participer à ce premier laboratoire jeunesse Can-Mex, où il est convaincu que la voix des jeunes sera entendue et qu’avec les autres générations, le binôme Canada-Mexique sera renforcé et que des progrès seront réalisés vers les objectifs du développement durable.
